The world of talent acquisition is changing. A quick look at how:
Westport Intl, our retained group, recently filled several searches for clients in HR, Finance, Marketing, and General Management. Our search group’s performance continues to be best in class in the retained search industry. We have several new announcements around the expansion of our search group:
- In the last few years, clients are much more strategic when choosing talent partners. Most now have some version of internal talent acquisition or talent management expertise.
- Finding and attracting top talent is changing. The days of a search professional being great because of his/her rolodex is out of date.
- Organizations are getting better at recognizing what “good” looks like, understand the power of behavioral interviews, and hiring leaders are engaged participants with human resources.
- Companies are investing capital in internal talent functions including human capital and talent tools and examining ROI.
- The business model for retained search firms, contingent firms, and RPO’s is changing – those who can adapt and do things differently will succeed.
- LinkedIn is similar to Monster 15 years ago. It is one of many new tools to address a new level of expectation from candidates and clients. Those tools are only as good as the end users.
- Those talent partners who can change, acknowledge the need for change, and become client driven execution firms vs. sales organizations will be the future of talent acquisition.
