The aerospace industry has long been one of our strongest industry areas. In this area, we have maintained some of the most productive and long-lasting partnerships in our company’s history. Our aerospace clients include several industry leading aircraft systems suppliers, producing components ranging from hydraulics, fuel and braking systems, and seating and galleys. Our PinPoint Talent Services division was also created around an ongoing sourcing project with an aerospace interiors company. Currently that project is halfway through its 4th year.

Difficulty and Success:

Despite the aerospace industry being a foundational part of our business, it is also an area where we have had struggles. Like other highly technical fields, the demand for talent is only continuing to grow. Companies are seeking not only highly capable and experienced professionals, but are also looking for those that will eventually become future business leaders. Due to the lack of hiring during the recession, fewer technically trained professionals entered the work force. Now, several years out, the demand for skilled, experienced talent is outweighing the supply, and companies must find new ways to attract and retain skilled professionals.

It is in understanding how to define, attract, and retain the professionals our clients need where our firm succeeds. Along with the above retained searches filled by Westport Intl, our PinPoint Talent Services group (shifting to between 5 to 10 staff on average) has successfully placed over 350 professional to mid-level roles through the 4.5 year long project with the previously mentioned Aerospace Interiors client. These roles were primarily focused towards engineering and operations, but branched out to all other functions within the client company. Given the demand of finding top level talent, the level of success we have experienced in this industry is truly a testament to our staff’s capabilities.
